February 07, 2006 - Third Annual FC Only Roundup planned!
The third annual FC only roundup has been planned and the dates have been set for Saturday, April 29th and Sunday, April 30th.

FC-Owners,
Once again this is your invitation, to an event dedicated to the rescue and recreation of Jeep Forward Control vehicles and their owners. Your attendance, as FC-owners, is the most important part of our event. This year we have added the invitation to FJ3 - FJ3A, Jeep Fleet Vans, these are Forward driven as well. There is no charge to this event and we have a raffle of donated FC-parts and products, and donated FC-items are appreciated. T-shirts and refreshments will be available and some new FC products will be on display. Your FC-vehicles, in what ever stage of completion, they are in: authentic show total restoration, original unrestored, farm, snow plow, tractor, dune buggy, street rod, restored daily driver, repowered, not running, chassis, rusted, wrecked, good, bad or ugly, all FCs, literature, photos, parts of FCs, will be welcome. This is a large gathering of FC-only vehicles on display but without judging or awards. For some of you who are 2004 and 2005 FC-alumni, or if you missed last year, this is your notice to mark the calendar. Let me know if you have any questions, I hope to see you here in Phoenix, Arizona.

May 01-02, 2004 - First Annual FC Only Roundup!
A special note from Jesse Ybarra:

My wife Andrea and I thank all of you, for your visit, at our home we had a great time. The first FC-gathering, you all made it happen, and what a great group of people and FC-trucks.
Six years ago, I was looking for parts for my M-677 thinking no way would I ever have it on the road again, I didn't know anyone else with FCs except me, I needed Cerlist deisel parts, I put in a used foggy cracked windshield with used rubber and silicone. I met Zebra Bob, and I wasn't the only one that had FCs around here. Then I talked to some of you on the phone and then came the big break the Jeep FC-forum. Over the years my truck saw a few engines and gear changes, we went to a Willys only Flatfender meet in Flagstaff, after attending two years it ended, that was two years ago, on the way home we stopped to eat at a cafe and Zebra Bob pulled in he had his friend with him, they asked if they could join us for Dinner, We had our first FC meeting, that is when we thought how many FC-owners will show up if we round them up? We thought mine and his maybe a couple more. Thanks to the forum and Willys tech, lists from Ann and Earl of Statewide 4x4,I met other people, Fred Williams truck and my FC-170 M-677s appeared in Military Vehicles Magazine. After that Freds truck and engine were in other magazines, he and I met last year a great person.
The forum FC-roundup inquiry in January created over 100 reply emails, 1/3 were wanting to for sure come, the date was set and a lot of you came, a lot of you could not, I was very pleased with the turn out. We expect that now that a few owners have figured out that it is not a car show but a roundup, we will see more trucks next year.
Was I surprised that at this event we had three M-677 owners, that Pirate Rik and Bill with his great FC-toy display, both of Utah would meet, that several no a lot of people from CA. would meet me here and themselves for the first time, some of them are nieghbors, as for that, I met 10 of my nieghbors within a few miles that own FCs most of them own computers. And the long distance arrival of Judd (he provided the shift decals) who came Thursday night from Minnesota and Friday, he helped me pick up the FC-DRW Big Red with the it's beautiful horse trailer, it is For Sale and on Display at Motorsports of Scottsdale, a great looking truck.
Thanks to Craig for some of the Raffle donations the DRW shirts and the tailgate decals, and a special thanks to Bill, he set up a great display of FC-Toy trucks, and had nonstop giveaways, Rudy with the windshield rubber thank you. Here is a bedtime story that never happens, once upon a time, many, many years ago, I had a little red narrow track, all original, it was used towing boats around a marina and boatshop we owned and as time went on I started over using that truck and killed the F-4, followed by 292-6, I started using it with a little tow boom, and ran it a few times up the sand dunes, well it grew up and became a little yellow sand dragster with a blown fuel 402 big block and paddle tires, flip front end, and parashute, for the 1/8 mile sand drags, well as the boat racing got to the point, where I went upside down a few times, and Andrea in newer lighter boats was faster than me, the motor to the FC truck was, taken by a former employee and the truck went to storage, (that was 25 years ago), the truck some how got misplaced and turned up lost, I was told it must have made it to the crusher, by then I was working Offshore overseas, I had heard it was in Bullhead City, but never did want it back, the frame had been abused and stretched and ripped apart so many times from wheelstand spills and welded and rewelded over welds. This is where this boring story gets better Jack and Cindy of Ehrinberg AZ, were showing me pictures of there disassembled and their abused littled FC, and there it is, still needs a frame and you guessed it, I was told that I owe the truck a new life, I will be doing all that I can to help Jack and Cindy make it come back again.
A special thanks to the new beautiful, fresh wet paint FCs of Bob, And Roy with his nice family. I hope to see more of you next year, this is your advanced invitation. I am trying to see right now, if it is not to late to go to the MidWest Willys reunion, I hope so. The FC-gone wild video is in the making and I am sure photos will be posted soon. All of you that kept coming Sunday afternoon, and into the late evening Sunday glad you made it, try and get off work a little sooner next year. I can't thank you all by name and I still am returning FCs today.

Thanks, Jesse
